Making the decision to say goodbye to your pet is extremely difficult and not something you have to face alone.

If you feel that your pet’s quality of life is not what it used to be then you might find it helpful to contact a member of our team and discuss your concerns. Talking about quality of life doesn’t mean that you have to make the final decision to euthanize. At a quality of life appointment, your vet can discuss your pet’s day to day wellbeing, examine them and provide symptomatic care where it is indicated. If your pet’s quality of life is suffering in a way that cannot be relieved for them, your vet might help you to make the decision to say goodbye.

If you have decided it is time to euthanize your pet, the vet can talk you through what to expect. Euthanasia is a peaceful and quick procedure for pets involving an injection of an anaesthetic over 1-2 minutes. We’ll do our best to bring you into the clinic at a quiet time and you will be given your own private and quiet space to spend time with your pet.
